There was quite a lot of hype this week about the NFL threatening to fine Chicago Bears Linebacker Lance Briggs for wearing September 11th Tribute gear as it was in violation of their uniform code. I wonder if it would have been different if we played for the New England Patriots? Anyway, the NFL eventually backed down from the PR disaster and approved the gear photo'd below:
Much less was made of Bethanie Mattek-Sands showing her patriotism at the US Open earlier this week. Since her patriotism was muffled by the NFL media machine, I thought I give her some credit and honor her with a post. Who will take it? Bethanie in her Under Amour tank & skirt paired with (old) glorious socks? Or this lil' guy?
