I've been robbed!!!

I've been on hiatus for quite some time, but just because I've been laying low all winter doesn't mean that I've given up my intellectual property rights!

ohnotheydidnt blatantly copied my concept.  I would've been flattered if they did a good job at copying it, but rather they just smashed together a puppy and a celebrity for a cheap laugh.  This blog is about quality writing and wit!!!!

Furthermore this blog was founded on the competitive spirit of man-kind!  (...not to mention the inexplicable, illogical charm of a baby dog)  Each photo is expertly picked with vegas-like oddsmaker precision to draw votes on both sides of the contest.   Everyone, including ohnotheydidnt, loves to laugh at celebrities.  I mean their tagline even calls them "disposable!"   The only celebrity that stood a fighting chance was Ryan Gosling because everyone knows he's so dreamy!!!

Speaking of dreamy let's vote on this little guy who's been hibernating all winter like me:

...vs a celeb of course.  Oh yes I did!

Patriots

I'm feeling a little patriotic after a visit to the United Flight 93 Memorial last week (photo above) and today being the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

There was quite a lot of hype this week about the NFL threatening to fine Chicago Bears Linebacker Lance Briggs for wearing September 11th Tribute gear as it was in violation of their uniform code.  I wonder if it would have been different if we played for the New England Patriots?  Anyway,  the NFL eventually backed down from the PR disaster and approved the gear photo'd below:

Much less was made of Bethanie Mattek-Sands showing her patriotism at the US Open earlier this week.  Since her patriotism was muffled by the NFL media machine, I thought I give her some credit and honor her with a post.  Who will take it?  Bethanie in her Under Amour tank & skirt paired with (old) glorious socks?  Or this lil' guy?

R.I.P. Amy

Amy Winehouse turned out to to be the next in a string of great musician's who died tragically at the age of 27, joining the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin & Kurt Cobain.

With her autopsy scheduled for Monday we aren't going to know for certain if drugs played a contributing role in her death, but her track record along with the precedent set by the others of the doomed "27-to-heaven club" seem to suggest it did.

In her honor we've put her up in blue T-shirt with striped panties against this apparent Pomeranian-Tommy-Bahama mixed breed, both accessorizing with a bong that completes the look:

Womens World Cup Final - Golden Opportunities

There was a lot of pressure on the women of the US Soccer Team to come home with a gold medal today and though they played well they stuggled to put the ball on frame despite a few golden opportunities.   I wonder if the designers at Nike were dreaming gold when they designed Hope Solo's golden keeper jersey for the game?   I guess we'll never know as the women came up short and we only got to see silver off of it.

Congratulations Japan.

In a tribute to the US team I'm putting up a saddened Hope Solo wearing Nike against the saddest golden retriever puppy I could find:

Honorable mention for the would-be hero, Alex Morgan, who made a running for today's post with a brilliant goal in representation of the red white & blue.  Of course the 'white' in this case is a transparent one with a pink sports bra underneath, but whatever, it's America and we do what we want.  I love the USA...with or without the title.  Good job ladies.

Stars and (Tiger) Stripes

The weather isn't great to start off the 4th of July weekend, so I think I may go catch a movie today.  Bad Teacher is on the shortlist, so here is a photo of Cameron Diaz at the Moscow Premiere in Emilio Pucci versus an adorable dalmation and his Friend:

R.I.P. Randy

This weekend Randy the Macho Man Savage died suddenly in a car accident.  As he joins other wrestling greats like 'The British Bulldog' in the afterlife, let's see if this legendary wrestler in his typical garb can get one last win against a pair of wrestling French Bulldogs from AtoZFrenchbulldogs.com:

Pup vs. Pip(pa)

Pippa Middleton's arse nearly stole the show at the royal wedding, so I decided to give her the toughest competition I could find:
